21 Year Old Ducati MotoGP Team rider Casey Stoner has come a long way since winning the first Grand Prix of the season in March. Nine wins, four podium finishes and five pole positions later, Stoner secured Ducati’s first MotoGP World Championship in Japan on September 23rd. It was Stoner’s worst result of the season in rainy Japan, with a 6th place finish. Stoner just needed to finish ahead of Valentino Rossi to achieve an unbeatable score. He completed the task as Rossi slowed down with tire problems, ultimately finishing thirteenth. This makes an 83 point gap between the two riders. With 25 points for a win and just 3 races left in the season, Stoner has clinched the title! To top it off, fellow rider and friend Loris Capirossi won the Japanese Grand Prix. What a day for Ducati fans!
